Is there a bank around here?

* ~이 (에) 있다는 존재를 나타날 때는,  There is  / There are를 사용한다.

  There is a bank over there.  조 쪽에 은행이 하나 있어요.

  There are many Korean restaurants around here.  이 근처에는 많은 한국음식점들이 있다.

 

* 모르는 장소에 가서 이 근처에 은행이 있는 것을 물어볼 때는,  Is there ~~?라고 묻는다.

  Is there a bank around here?  (혹시) 이 근처에 은행이 있나요?

  Yes, therer is ong over there.  네, 저쪽에 하나 있어요.

  No, there aren't any around here.  아니요, 이 근처에는 하나도 없어요.

  또는, Do you know where any banks are around here?라고 물어도 된다.

 

* 그 근처에 있는 것은 아는데 정확한 위치를 모를때는 ~~

  Where is the bank?

  Do you know where the bank?

 

* 길안내에 필요한 전치사

  at  ~에서,     past  ~을 지나서,     on one's right  오는쪽에,

  to  ~까지,    along  ~를 따라서,    on one's left  왼쪽에

예)  Turn left at the traffic lights.

      Turn right at the corner.

      Go up to the first traffic lights.

      Go past the gas station.

      Go stralight along 1st street.

      It's on your left.
